Not a Numbered Series — A Thematic Collection Spanning Multiple Formats
The Santas From Around the World ornaments are not a numbered annual series — they are a thematic collection issued irregularly from 2004 to 2021 in several different formats. The 2004 entries used the QP (Shoebox specialty) prefix, 2005–2007 used QXG (standard Keepsake), two entries used QXM (miniature), several used QXC (Collectors Club exclusive), and the 2021 Austria entry is QXE (Limited Edition event ornament). Each ornament depicts a different nation’s traditional gift-giver — from the American Santa Claus to Russia’s Ded Moroz to Italy’s Babbo Natale — in that nation’s traditional holiday attire. Collect any or all.

“Each Offering a Glimpse Into Global Holiday Traditions”
The Santas From Around the World collection began in 2004 with six ornaments released together as a set — the USA, Germany, Mexico, Ireland, Italy, and Russia. All six 2004 entries use the QP (Shoebox specialty) prefix, suggesting they were designed as a cohesive inaugural set. Each depicts the local version of the holiday gift-giver in traditional national attire: America’s jolly red-suited Santa Claus, Germany’s St. Nikolaus in bishop robes, Mexico’s Papa Noel, Ireland and Italy’s respective Father Christmas and Babbo Natale, and Russia’s Ded Moroz (Grandfather Frost) in his distinctive blue robe, often accompanied by his granddaughter Snegurochka in Russian tradition.
The collection continued irregularly through 2021, adding one or two countries each active year in whatever format best suited that year’s distribution: standard Keepsake (QXG), miniature (QXM), Collectors Club exclusive (QXC), or Limited Edition event ornament (QXE). The 2006 England Miniature and 2008 Canada entry are Club exclusives — rarer pieces that required Hallmark club membership to obtain. The 2021 Austria Limited Edition is the most recent entry, marked QXE. Every entry shares the same premise: one country, one traditional gift-giver, one ornament that captures the holiday costume and spirit of that nation’s celebration.
Tips for the Collection
-
01Display as a complete world map of holiday gift-givers — twelve nations, one universal spirit. The 14 ornaments cover four continents: North America (USA, Canada, Mexico), Europe (Germany, Ireland, Italy, Russia, England, Poland, Switzerland, Netherlands, France, Austria), and the collection works beautifully as a geography lesson in miniature. Grouping by continent on a dedicated tree or shelf, or arranging with little flag picks to identify each nation, turns the collection into an interactive display that sparks conversation.
-
02The Club exclusive entries (QXC) and the 2021 Limited Edition (QXE) are the rarest — they required club membership or event attendance to obtain originally. The Canada (2008), Switzerland (2010), Netherlands (2012), and France (2014) entries all carry the QXC (Collectors Club exclusive) prefix, meaning they were originally available only to Hallmark club members. The 2006 England Miniature (QXM3143) is also a Club entry. The 2021 Austria (QXE3265) is a Limited Edition event ornament. These five entries are the most difficult to find in the open market — all are available here at Already Christmas.
-
03Display the 2004 six-country launch set together as the collection’s founding cohort. The QP-prefix 2004 entries (USA, Germany, Mexico, Ireland, Italy, Russia) were designed and released together as a coordinated set. They share a format and a year and display most coherently when grouped together as the collection’s founding six — the original launch set that established the series’ premise.
