Venice, Paradise, and the Ski Lodge — The Complete Disney Romantic Vacations
The Romantic Vacations series launched in 1998 as one of Hallmark’s most delightful Disney couple series — taking Donald and Daisy Duck, and Mickey and Minnie Mouse, on three different romantic getaways across three years. The 1998 founding entry (QXD4103) is immediately charming: Donald Duck and Daisy Duck in a gondola on a Venetian canal, the green gondola gliding through the waterways of Italy. Disney fans love it — one Amazon reviewer bought it specifically for a couple that got engaged on a gondola in Venice.
The series then switches couples for the 1999 tropical entry (#2, QXD4049, 3.25" H): Mickey Mouse in swim trunks playing a guitar while Minnie Mouse does the hula on a tropical island. The complete beach paradise scene — Mickey as the beach band, Minnie as the entertainer. The 2000 finale (#3, QXD4031, 4" H) returns to Donald and Daisy for a winter destination: Lover’s Lodge, with the two ducks on a ski lift. The alternating pattern — Donald + Daisy, then Mickey + Minnie, then Donald + Daisy — gives both Disney couples two and one destination respectively. Disney fans uniformly wish the series had continued beyond three entries.
