Rangers
Four Hallmark ornaments across two eras — the early 2000s Saban years and the Hasbro revival two decades later. The 2003 Ninja Storm Red Ranger in The Henry Ford. The 2005 S.P.D. Red and Blue Rangers by Lane Feuer. Then eighteen years of silence. The 2023 Mighty Morphin Red Ranger returning. And the 2024 Green Ranger — Tommy Oliver, who became a Power Ranger after being freed from the evil control of Rita Repulsa, in an action pose. It's morphin time.

"It's Morphin Time" — From Ninja Storm to Mighty Morphin, 2003 to 2024
Power Rangers launched in 1993 as Mighty Morphin Power Rangers — an American adaptation of the Japanese Super Sentai series, produced by Haim Saban, featuring five teenagers recruited by the space wizard Zordon to fight the evil Rita Repulsa using giant robotic dinosaur-themed mechs called Zords. The original show ran from 1993 to 1996 before the franchise reinvented itself annually with new casts, new themes, and new ranger configurations. By 2003 — when Hallmark produced the first Power Rangers Keepsake — the franchise was in its Ninja Storm era: Shane Clarke, the Red Wind Ranger, a skateboarder at a secret ninja school in Blue Bay Harbor, battling the evil ninja Lothor. The 2003 ornament captures Shane in his red ranger suit, 4 inches tall, dated 2003, with a Holiday Memory Card enclosed. It is also in The Henry Ford museum collections — recognized, like the 1995 Hot Wheels ornament, as a culturally significant artifact of American holiday collectible history.
After the 2005 S.P.D. entry — Lane Feuer's Red and Blue Rangers from Power Rangers S.P.D. (Space Patrol Delta), 3¾ inches tall, "Space Alien Alert!" — the Hallmark Power Rangers collection went dark for eighteen years. Hasbro acquired the Power Rangers franchise from Saban in 2018, and when Hallmark returned to Power Rangers in 2023, it returned not to the current franchise iteration but to the original: the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the 1993 source, the team that started it all. The 2023 Red Ranger is Jason — the accomplished martial artist and team leader of the original Mighty Morphin team — in his red and white suit in an action pose. The 2024 Green Ranger is Tommy Oliver, the most beloved ranger of the original series: the character who began as a villain controlled by Rita Repulsa before being freed and joining the team, whose green ranger arc is the defining character story of the entire franchise.
"It's morphin time! Kick the holidays into high gear with this Christmas tree ornament featuring the Green Ranger. The dynamic decoration features Tommy Oliver, who became a Mighty Morphin Power Ranger after he was freed from the evil control of Rita Repulsa, in an action pose in his green and white suit."
— Hallmark Digital Dreambook, 2024 Green Ranger — Hasbro Power Rangers · QXI7804 · 3.94" W × 3.54" H × 1.3" DIn The Henry Ford — The 2003 Ninja Storm Red Ranger
The 2003 Power Rangers Ninja Storm Red Ranger ornament (QXD2439) is in the permanent collections of The Henry Ford museum in Dearborn, Michigan — the same institution that holds the 1995 Hot Wheels Magic Light & Motion ornament, the Rosa Parks bus, and the Wright Brothers' bicycle shop. The museum's collection of Hallmark Keepsakes acknowledges them as culturally significant artifacts of American holiday and popular culture history. The 2003 Power Rangers entry joins that catalog: Shane Clarke, the Red Wind Ranger, skateboards in Blue Bay Harbor until the evil ninja Lothor returns from exile in space, and a secret ninja school kicks it into high gear.
The Green Ranger — Tommy Oliver · 2024
Hallmark's choice of Tommy Oliver as the 2024 Power Rangers ornament is the collection's most significant editorial decision. Tommy Oliver — the Green Ranger — is the most beloved character in Power Rangers history by a wide margin: the teenager who was kidnapped by Rita Repulsa, brainwashed into fighting against the Power Rangers, then freed by their leader and welcomed onto the team. His arc — from villain to hero, from enemy to the most powerful ranger — is the franchise's central character story, and he returned across multiple seasons and multiple ranger colors. 3.94" × 3.54" × 1.30" D. Green and white suit. Action pose. Tommy Oliver on the Christmas tree, freed from Rita Repulsa at last.

01Display the Saban and Hasbro era ornaments as two distinct groups. The 2003 and 2005 entries are from the early-to-mid 2000s Saban era — Ninja Storm and S.P.D., two of the post-original Power Rangers series. The 2023 and 2024 entries are Hasbro era returns to the original 1993 Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. These are different rangers from different series. Display them in chronological order (left to right) with the era gap visible — or group the two Saban entries together and the two Hasbro entries together to show the two chapters.

02The 2023 Red Ranger and 2024 Green Ranger are the original team's two most iconic members — display them together. Jason (Red Ranger) and Tommy Oliver (Green Ranger) are the Mighty Morphin team's two most significant members: the leader and the most popular secondary character. Together on adjacent branches they represent the relationship that defined the original series — the team leader and the ranger who began as his enemy.
