What's Up, Doc? — The Complete Looney Tunes Keepsake Story

The Looney Tunes Hallmark Keepsake collection launched in 1993 with two of the franchise's most essential characters: Bugs Bunny and the pairing of Sylvester and Tweety. The debut year established both the collection's tonal range — Bugs for wit and confidence, Sylvester and Tweety for the perpetual pursuit that defines one of animation's most enduring rivalries — and its format flexibility, with the two 1993 entries representing different approaches to the same license. The collection expanded rapidly through the mid-1990s, bringing in Daffy Duck, Yosemite Sam, the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote, Speedy Gonzales, Tasmanian Devil, and an entire series of Tiny Toons Adventures miniatures (Babs Bunny, Dizzy Devil, Hamton Pig, Plucky Duck, Calamity Coyote, Furrball, Little Beeper) that gave the collection a miniature dimension alongside its standard-scale entries.

The breadth of the Hallmark Looney Tunes collection is its most impressive quality.   The 1997 Decorator Taz Light & Motion (QLX7502) is the collection's most technically ambitious entry. Taz decorating a Christmas tree with light and motion — the Tasmanian Devil's characteristic whirlwind applied to holiday decorating — is the ornament that most rewards being plugged in and watched. Position it where the light and motion features can be appreciated, and make sure it's connected to the appropriate power supply.

  Display the Sylvester and Tweety pairs together as a pursuit. The 1993 debut Sylvester & Tweety, the 1995 Sylvester and Tweety Set, the 2003 Bubble Bath (Sylvester & Tweety), and the various standalone Tweety entries create a complete narrative of the most persistent predator-prey relationship in animation history.   The Tiny Toons Adventures miniatures (1994–1995) are the collection's rarest sub-series.
