"The Cold Never Bothered Her Anyway" — Two Films, Ten Ornaments

Disney's Frozen was released on November 27, 2013 — and "Let It Go" became the most identifiable song in Disney animation since "A Whole New World" two decades earlier. Written by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, the song won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2014. Idina Menzel's performance of it — and the sequence in which Elsa builds her ice palace on the North Mountain while discarding the expectations of everyone who told her to conceal her powers — became the film's defining moment and, for many viewers, the film's entire emotional core. Hallmark released a Magic Sound ornament of that exact scene in 2015: press the button and "Let It Go" plays. The cold never bothered her anyway.

Frozen 2 arrived in November 2019 — and the Hallmark collection shifted with it, producing five consecutive entries from the sequel alongside the original film's expanding catalog. The 2019 Elsa and Nokk is the collection's largest ornament: Elsa riding Nokk, the mythical water spirit who takes the form of a horse that looks like frozen glass, at 5.07" × 4.26" × 1.46". The 2021 "Show Yourself" Magic Sound ornament — Elsa in her lavender dress on an ice crystal, playing the sequel's emotional centerpiece — mirrors the 2015 "Let It Go" entry perfectly: one film, two songs, two moments of Elsa claiming her identity on her own terms. The 2022 Elsa and the Fire Spirit adds Bruni, the small salamander who is the Enchanted Forest's fire spirit, held gently in Elsa's hands in porcelain. And the 2023 "Two Sisters One Heart" finally gives Anna and Elsa equal billing — the sisterhood that is the actual emotional engine of both films.

"Relive the anticipation and excitement as Elsa searches for answers about Arendelle's history and her own destiny when you display this Christmas tree ornament. Poised and confident standing on an ice crystal in her shimmery dress and cape."

🎵 Two Magic Sound Ornaments — The Songs That Define Both Films

The Frozen collection has two Magic Sound ornaments, each playing the signature song of its respective film. The 2015 Elsa "Let It Go" (QXD6147) plays "Let It Go" — the Oscar-winning song from the 2013 film that became the musical shorthand for the entire franchise — at the press of a button, 2 LR44 batteries included, Artist Not Noted, 3.2" × 3.9" × 3.2". The 2021 "Show Yourself" Elsa (QXD6515) plays "Show Yourself" — the emotional climax of Frozen 2 — at the press of a button, Elsa in lavender standing on ice crystal, 2.64" × 4.25" × 2.64". Both ornaments require 2 LR44 batteries (included). Connect both to the same extension cord and the Frozen soundtrack plays from two ornaments, back to back, on the same tree.

The Collection's Largest Entry — The Frozen Glass Horse

Elsa and Nokk — 2019 · 5.07" Wide

The 2019 Elsa and Nokk is the collection's largest and most visually striking ornament — Elsa riding Nokk, the mythical water spirit who appears in Frozen 2 as a horse made of what looks like frozen glass, at 5.07" × 4.26" × 1.46". Nokk is a spirit from Scandinavian folklore — a shape-shifting water spirit who guards the rivers — reimagined for the film as a horse made of ice and water that Elsa must master before crossing the dark sea. The ornament captures both figures at full scale: Elsa commanding, Nokk in motion. At over 5 inches wide it demands a branch with room to read clearly from both sides.

Tips for the Collection

  • 01
Press both Magic Sound ornaments at the same time. The 2015 "Let It Go" and the 2021 "Show Yourself" are the collection's two musical entries — each plays the defining song of its respective film. Display them near each other on the tree and press both buttons when guests arrive. "Let It Go" from the first film; "Show Yourself" from the sequel. The complete Elsa musical arc, on the tree, at the press of two buttons.
  • 02
The 2019 Elsa and Nokk needs a branch with clear space on both sides. At 5.07 inches wide, the Elsa and Nokk ornament is one of the largest in the Frozen collection. Position it on a long outer branch at eye level where both Elsa and the full profile of Nokk the water horse can be seen from the front. The frozen glass texture of Nokk is best appreciated at close range.
  • 03
The 2023 "Two Sisters One Heart" belongs at the center of the collection display. Every other Frozen Keepsake features Elsa alone — Let It Go (Elsa), Do You Want to Build a Snowman (Anna and Elsa as children), Olaf, Elsa's Magic Snowflake (Elsa), Nokk (Elsa), miniature Elsa, Show Yourself (Elsa), Fire Spirit (Elsa). The 2023 "Two Sisters One Heart" is the collection's only adult-Elsa-and-Anna-together entry, and it carries the weight of the films' actual central relationship. Display it prominently.
  • 04
The 2022 "Elsa and the Fire Spirit" Bruni ornament is the collection's most detailed and delicate entry. Elsa holding Bruni the salamander in porcelain, 1.3" × 4.25" × 1.45" — tall, narrow, and very precisely detailed. Patricia Andrews (artist on the 2016 "Snowman" entry) and others have brought distinctive approaches to the collection; the 2022 fire spirit entry in particular rewards close examination of the salamander's expressive blue eyes.
